Welcome to MEDTEC Europe
Featuring more than 1000 exhibitors, a three-day conference exploring a host of regulatory, design and manufacturing issues, the Innovation Forum devoted to implant engineering and the announcement of the winners of the MEDTEC EMDT Innovation Awards, MEDTEC Europe 2012 promises to be bigger and better than ever. The annual event returns to Messe Stuttgart in Stuttgart, Germany, from 13 to 15 March.
While much of the economy has been in the doldrums, to say the least, the medical technology industry continues to post encouraging numbers. “Medical device manufacturing revenue in Germany is expected to finish slightly over €21 billion in 2011, up from €20 billion in 2010,” according to MEDTEC Event Manager Gregor Bischkopf. “The growth rate is expected to remain stable at least until 2015.” You can expect that positivity to permeate the MEDTEC show floor, where exhibitors will present a vast array of products and services tailored for medical device applications. Automation, biomaterials, metal fabrication, electronics and R&D services are among the featured categories.
A comprehensive conference that runs alongside the exhibition will address such issues as market access, human factors engineering, risk management and the global regulatory environment.
The Innovation Forum, which is organised in association with Fraunhofer IPA, provides an in-depth discussion of dental and orthopaedic implant technology in hall 8. Admission is free.
EMDT has introduced MEDTEC Connection, a site covering all aspects of MEDTEC Europe. Visit MEDTEC Connection for the latest show and conference news, product previews, exhibitor profiles, videos and chat sessions.
