BioInvent and ThromboGenics Announce Results from Phase IIb Venous Thromboembolism Prevention Study with TB-402

BioInvent International and co-development partner ThromboGenics said the results from a Phase IIb trial comparing TB-402, a long acting anticoagulant, against rivaroxaban (Xarelto; Bayer), an oral anticoagulant. The study showed that the incidence of venous thromboembolism was similar with both drugs but patients receiving TB-402 had a significantly higher incidence of bleeding events.

Stamford Hospital patient is among hundreds of women nationwide hoping to live longer with aggressive breast cancer due to an experimental drug administered in a clinical trial."This drug has basically put her in remission for almost a year," said Dr. Steven Lo, an oncologist at the hospital's Carl & Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center and co-investigator on its drug study.
